Luzmila Gutierrez

Luzmila was born June 20, 1947 in Sevilla valle Colombia. She was one of 18 siblings. Her independence was shown at an early age in an era where the majority of women didn’t work. She began working in one of the most popular stores at the time named J Gómez. She moved onto working at Jorge Arabia. In 1967 she had her first child. With more responsibility came necessity. In 1975 Luzmila migrated to New York in despair leaving her 8 year old son William behind with her parents. Yesenia was born in 1976 now becoming a mother of two. Working in factories on the Merrow machine doing piece work completing her work in record-breaking time. She became a citizen and in 1980 after all her hard work she returned to Colombia and brought her son back to New York and soon after her parents Manuel and Carmen joined. She paved the way for her entire family by bringing siblings and their families to this country. We’re all truly grateful for her. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t do she drove a taxicab, a school bus for special needs children, she also took care of elderly people. William moved to Miami Fl Luzmila and Yesinia soon followed after living in New York for over 2 decades. There she drove an aircraft catering truck for nearly 20 years. She retired and continued working cleaning homes and businesses. Selling her delicious empanadas was one of her many hobbies, also tailoring clothes. Everything she did was done with love. Luzmila was the 3rd eldest of her siblings Margarita, Juan, Blanca, Aidee, Manuel, Myriam,and Patricia. A grandmother to Anjelica, Alexis, Alex, Jade, Adrian, Yeselle and a Great grandmother to Eva, Dominic, Lana and Mya. She was a mother, a daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, godmother, a sister and a friend. She was ambitious, kind hearted and devoted to her family. Anything you needed she was there. Heaven gained an angel on June 5, at 6am. May Luzmila Rest In Peace. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Porta Coeli Funeral Home in Kissimmee, Florida. Su independencia se demostró a una edad temprana en una época en la que la mayoría de las mujeres no trabajaba. Comenzó a trabajar en una de las tiendas más populares de la época llamada J Gómez. Pasó a trabajar en Jorge Arabia. En 1967 tuvo su primer hijo. Con más responsabilidad vino la necesidad. En 1975 Luzmila emigró a Nueva York desesperada, dejando a su hijo William de 8 años con sus padres. Yesenia nació en 1976 y ahora es madre de dos. Trabajando en fábricas en la máquina Merrow haciendo trabajo a destajo completando su trabajo en un tiempo récord. Se convirtió en ciudadana en 1980, después de todo su arduo trabajo, regresó a Colombia y trajo a su hijo a Nueva York y poco después se unieron sus padres Manuel y Carmen. Ella ayudó a su familia trayendo sus hermanos y sus familias a este país. Estamos todos realmente agradecidos con ella. No había nada que no pudiera hacer, conducía un taxi, un autobús escolar para niños con necesidades especiales, también se ocupaba de personas mayores. William se mudó a Miami Fl Luzmila y Yesinia pronto lo siguió después de vivir en Nueva York durante más de 2 décadas. Allí condujo un camión comida para los aviones durante casi 20 años. Se jubiló y continuó trabajando limpiando hogares y negocios. Vendía sus deliciosas empanadas era una de sus muchas aficiones, también confeccionar ropa. Todo lo que hizo lo hizo con amor. Luzmila era la tercera mayor de sus hermanos Margarita, Juan, Blanca, Aidee, Manuel, Myriam y Patricia. Abuela de Anjelica, Alexis, Alex, Jade, Adrian, Yeselle y bisabuela de Eva, Dominic, Lana y Mya. Fue madre, hija, abuela, bisabuela, madrina, hermana y amiga.Ella era ambiciosa, de buen corazón y dedicada a su familia. Todo lo que necesitabas, ella estaba allí. El cielo ganó un ángel el 5 de junio a las 6 de la mañana. Que Luzmila descanse en paz. Se realizará un velorio el jueves 10 de junio de 2021 de 4:00 pm a 8:00 pm en la Funeraria Porta Coeli en Kissimmee, Florida. Servicios privados de cremación se realizarán en una fecha posterior.
