Demetrio C. Javier

Demetrio Cajigas Javier, 78, of Orlando Florida, passed away peacefully in his home with his beloved wife of 43-years, Nereida Javier at his side. Born on July 10, 1945, in Aguada, Puerto Rico, Demetrio lived an abundant joyful life, full of all that he loved. A passionate domino player, he would never shy away from yelling, “capicu!” An enjoyer of a good scratch off, playing his favorite number, he relished in the little delights of life; like the fulfillment of a plate of his favorite dish, patitas. Life in Florida gratified his love for fishing; the softness that came with the wait of the catch and the happiness of reeling one in. Demetrio was an enthusiast of horses. Like a horse, with beauty unsurpassed, strength immeasurable, and grace unlike any other who remains humble enough to carry a man upon his back, Demetrio carried his family. Whether it was as a kid standing up for his sisters as the only brother; being the pillar of a father and grandfather as “pops”; lining up the kids and showing who “Tio Deme” was, or helping his wife “fregando”, Demetrio was the epitome of a great son, nephew, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend. A man of God and faith, Demetrio selflessly dedicated the last years of his life serving God. He traveled throughout Florida feeding the homeless, gifting the less fortunate through donations and spreading hope and love to those who needed it. Demetrio traveled to Cuba and Nicaragua on mission trips and was blessed in return by the Lord. Demetrio was privileged to travel back to his hometown before passing. Even in his leisurely travel he devoted time to feed those displaced. His time there he was able to enjoy the serenity of his hometown; the mountainous views, the refined mangoes, and avocados he loved, and the aroma of his cherished island land surrounded by Ocean. Demetrio Javier is survived by his treasured wife Nereida Javier, married April 20, 2005, daughter Olga Javier, his sons Demetrio Javier Jr, Alexandro Javier, and Brian Javier, children by marriage and love Michelle Badillo and Ramone Badillo Jr, sister Noelia Roldan, and 14-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by many who were blessed to know and love him and will continue to cherish him in their hearts forever. Demetrio joins his loved ones and is reunited with his parent’s mother Virginia Cajigas and father Ramon Javier, eldest son Julio Javier, and sisters Mariana Melendez and Edith Ugarte. What a legacy, what a life. We invite you to keep Demetrio alive in your hearts.
