Indar “Buxin” Seecharan: September 8, 1925 - March 31, 2024 We are gathered here today to celebrate and honor the life of Indar “Buxin” Seecharan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chandrawattie “Alice” Seecharan and 2 children, Shyam Seecharan and Beeda DrePaul. He is survived by Christendat Indar, Leila Touros, Deodat Seecharan, Vishnu Seecharan, and Gaitree Delvalle. Indar was a man of many talents, passions, and virtues. He was a generous, kind, and compassionate person who touched the lives of many. Indar was born on September 8, 1925, in 59 village of Courantyne, Guyana, where he grew up with his eight siblings – 5 brothers and 3 sisters. In those days, life was hard, but those hardships drove Indar to strive for a better life. In line with cultural traditions, Indar married at a young age in February of 1945 to Alice and started a beautiful family. In addition to becoming a husband and father of 7 children, Indar also became a leader in the community and a well-respected Agricultural businessman in the Rice and Sugarcane Industry along with being a government contractor tasked with building the infrastructure of the village. He, along with his wife, worked hard to build a home and provide for their family and community until immigrating to the United States in 1977 with the help of his eldest son, Christendat Indar and daughter-in-law, Eileen Indar. After arriving in the US, Indar started over in New York by taking a job as a manager in a manufacturing facility. He continued to work hard to build a new life for him and his family. In addition, he and his family continued to touch the lives of many in the Guyanese community by providing a place of safety, helping others immigrate and transition into their new lives in America. They were truly a source of strength and guidance. After being injured on the job, Indar retired and moved to Florida in 1987 with his wife. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening, bicycling, telling stories of his life in Guyana, fishing, music, spending time with his friends, and most importantly, being a grandfather. Indar was blessed to witness the birth of 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. He enjoyed every minute spent with all his children and grandchildren. After a full life of 98 years, Indar peacefully left us in his sleep. He was surrounded by his family in his final moments, and we are grateful for the time we had with him. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. His legacy lives on in his family, his friends, and his community. Indar, we thank you for everything you have done for us, and for the love you have given us.You will always be in our hearts, and we will always remember you. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 5 pm to 9 pm at Porta Coeli Funeral Home in Kissimmee, Florida. Religious services will be held from 8 am to 10 am on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Porta Coeli Funeral Home, followed by cremation services at Osceola Crematory in Kissimmee, Florida at 10:30 am.
