Roberto Enrique Devarie Rodriguez

Roberto Enrique Devarie Rodriguez, 68, passed away in Orlando, Florida on August 21, 2025. He was born in Patillas, Puerto Rico on June 7th, 1957. He is the son of the late Hermenegildo Devarie Santiago Sr. and Isabel Rodriguez Rosario. He served in the US Army as an Administration Specialist and achieved the rank of Specialist 5. He then enlisted in the US Coast Guard, completed Officer Candidate School (OCS) and was commissioned as an Ensign(O1E). He served the rest of his career as an Information Resource Management and Electronic Engineering Officer and traveled abroad until he retired as a Lieutenant in October of 2003. His military decorations include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal (w) One Gold Star, Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Commandant’s Letter of Commendation Ribbon, Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation (w) Three Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, and the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal. After retirement from the US Coast Guard, he pursued a career with the General Services Administration as an Information Systems Security Officer from which he had recently retired. He pursued his higher education at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Excelsior College, University of Albany, NY and a Master’s Degree in Information Technology Project Management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Roberto was an avid motorcyclist serving at various leadership positions with the local Latin Motorcycle Association (L.A.MA.). He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his daughter Elsybel M. Devarie, granddaughters Victoria, Raquel and Brianna, and son Roberto Devarie, brother’s Rafael E. Devarie (wife Evelyn), Hermenegildo Devarie, Jr (wife Licette) and Edwin E. Devarie and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Roberto will forever be remembered and loved by all those who knew him. May he rest in peace. A celebration of life service will be held in his memory on 4 October 2025 from 3 to 6 PM at Porta Coeli Funeral Home & Crematory, 2801 E. Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34743.
