Ansil Hosein

October 24, 1944 - March 31, 2022

Ansil Hosein a Vietnam Veteran and a resident of Kissimmee, passed away on March 31, 2022, surrounded by his family. Sil, as he was known to his family and friends, was born October 24, 1944, to the late George Williams and Myroon Hosein-Pascal in San Fernando, Trinidad West Indies. Sil attended Primary School in Trinidad. He loved drawing, painting, photography, and design and was a graduate of Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, FL where he received an Associate Degree in Art and Design. Sil enlisted in the United States Army and became a career veteran with 21 years of active service. His duty stations included Hawaii, Europe, Vietnam, and stateside duties. He was the recipient of 2 Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, 4 Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, 3 NCO Professional Development Ribbons, Army Service Ribbon, 2 Overseas Service Ribbons, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/palm, Overseas Service Bars, 2 Meritorious Service Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. The U. S. Army recognized Sil for his bravery and honorable service with the Purple Heart, his most distinguished metal. He has traveled to England, Grenada, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Holland, Mexico, Jamaica, Indochina and of course his home Trinidad and Tobago. Sil retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs. In 1980 Sil married Shelby Darlene Jones in Ft. Riley, Kansas. Together they shared 42 years of love and friendship. They have three wonderful children, Tameka, Tanesha and Ansil, Jr. Sil was preceded in death by both his parents, George Williams, and Myroon Hosein-Pascal; his brother, Wilfred Pascal. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 42 years Shelby Darlene Hosein; 3 children, Tameka L. Hosein, Tanesha M Hosein-Saintilma and Ansil H. Hosein, Jr.; 5 grandchildren, Eric W. Hosein, Lashelle A. Charles, Shaquirs Saintilma, Anthony Charles, Shaquira Saintilma; 1 great granddaughter, Maya Howard; Stepmother, Emerald Williams; 10 siblings, Anslim H. Hosein (Marissa), Sumintra Pascal Bruch (Dianne), Anthony Fraser (Helen), and Hazel Fraser (Kweku), Lana Fraser-Williams (James), Ronald Fraser, Clarence Smith, Chara Smith-Hall (David), Ryan Williams and Leah Williams; in laws, Clinton L. Jones (Virginia), Evelyn V. Henley (Jackie), Kathy L. Babb, Betty J. Jones, and Erline Jones; 5 aunts, Rita Seenath, Nora Bharath, Carmen Maillard, Dolly Ramjass and Velma Mohammed; 2 uncles, Kenny Hosein and Kenneth Hosein; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
