Nelida Rosas, 54, of Kissimmee, passed away on November 12, 2015 in Kissimmee, FL. She was born on October 14, 1961 to Benjamin and Elida Santana Pacheco in Cabo Rojo, P.R. Nelida is survived by her loving spouse; Ismael, her daughter, Jennie Rodriguez; two sons, Nelson Diaz, Jose Rivera; four sisters, Maritza Rosas, Lizzette Mendoza, Frances Acosta, Elizabeth Rosas, as well as 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Rosa. Visitation will be held Monday, November 16, 2015, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Porta Coeli Funeraria y Crematorio, 2801 East Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, FL. 34743 A private cremation has been arranged, following viewing services. Eulogy When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do, You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears, But be thankful we had so many good years. I gave you my love, and you can only guess How much you've given me in happiness. I thank you for the love that you have shown, But now it is time I traveled on alone. So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must, Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It is only for a while that we must part, So treasure the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on. And if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near. And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear, All my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a 'Welcome Home'. We are gathered here today in the memory of my mother, Nelida Rosas so that together we may acknowledge and share both our joy in the gift that her life was to us, and the pain that her passing brings. In sharing the joy and the pain together today, may we lessen the pain and remember more clearly the joy. At the age of 54 she died from cancer with my aunt Maritza and I by her side. As I held her hand I comforted her with the words "Be at peace mom, I love you, I'll be ok. She took her last breath as I muttered those words on Thursday Nov 12 at 3:03pm in our home. It’s hard to say goodbye. We wish that we had more time, and perhaps that during the time we had we had spent more of it together. We wish that so much of her life had not been lost to her illness, that things could have been different for her, and for us. While we know that she is at peace and that her struggles are at an end, there is pain and sadness. But even though she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love and that smile I will forever be reminded of when I look in the mirror. The ways she touched our lives will forever remain, she will forever remain. One of the most important things in Mom’s life was being a mom then later in life a grandmother. She took pride in us. She is a mother of 3 children, I being the oldest and her favorite daughter and her 2 sons. This family, and her role as mother and grandmother, was the most important thing to Mom. This is where she drew her strength and poured all her love. Being with her family was what she enjoyed most of all. Her life had many obstacles, and she struggled with this horrible disease. Yet through it all, her love and caring for her family remained her focus, and in so many, many ways, she was able to show that love to us. May her powerful strength be a lesson for us all. My mother played not only both mom and dad for me but she was and will always be my best friend. My mother and I talked constantly and you all know how much we can both talk. So knowing her oh so well I know exactly what she would want me to say to you all so here goes... Keep your priorities straight. Keep what is most important in focus. Live every day to the fullest. Spend your money on what makes you happy, you can't take it with you when you leave this earth. Travel. Love and care for each other. Family always comes first. Always say I love you. Listen to your music loud and dance as if no one was watching, keep your house clean, mop the kitchen floor and vacuum. But most importantly keep the remote controls in a straight line from biggest to smallest. Mom had the worst case of OCD. Even with everything Mom went through, she managed to keep her priorities straight. She loved us, she gave us advice, she listened, she was the "cool" mom. She listened to her music loud, and all still while constantly telling us to clean the house that no one else ever saw dirty but her. I'll be closing today with the meaning behind the bells you were all given at the door... but before we do, on behalf of myself and rest of the family, I’d like to thank you all for coming here today. And a very special thank you to my aunt, my mothers sister Maritza for taking care of my mother until the very end. A lifetime of thank you's will never do but I will remind you for the rest of my life how you being there meant the world to her and I. My mothers last oncologist appointment was with Bryana and I. She was explaining to Bryana what the big bell on the wall signified "when one is done with chemo and continuing this battle in remission they ring the bell as a congrats" after she explained she said "I'll never get to ring that bell" so we made jokes to lighten up the mood and she said "ahh just put me in my casket with a kitten collar full of bells" it was a joke because I would never do that BUT I came up with a better idea... Hold your bells up high and let's ring them for her also remembering that a bell ringing signifies an angel getting her wings.. To you mom❤️
