Robert Edwin Holden's mission on earth was completed in the early morning hours of August 3, 2022, in Kissimmee, Florida, while holding the hand and gazing into the eyes of the woman he so dearly loved, his wife, Anna May Holden. Bob was 84 years old. Bob was a man of integrity and honor. He spent the majority of his life in law enforcement and security, and was proud of his training as a New Centurion with the LAPD. His passion for order carried over into his life where he held high expectations for those that he loved. He was well-known for rising before the sun in order to enjoy his morning coffee while completing the crossword puzzle with his bird sitting on his shoulder. He enjoyed routines that kept his life simple. He enjoyed peaceful moments of quiet solitude, but also enjoyed being silly, and would break out in his very own dance that was both funny and adorable. He had a quick wit, coupled with a dry sense of humor, that kept his family on their toes. He will also be remembered for turning on his country music (usually Waylon, Willie and the Boys) at 3 AM and vacuuming, much to the chagrin of sleeping family members and neighbors. In his younger days he was a loving father of 6, and spent his time teaching his children how to water ski, spending most summer weekends camping and boating at the lake. He was also a daring date. Given the nickname, The Silver Tongue Devil, he was known by many as a dashing, handsome, charming man that caught the eyes of many a young women. However, it wasn't until he met his beautiful bride Anna, that he discovered the meaning of true love which led to the happiest 20 years of his life. As a young man in high school, Bob played football and baseball, although admitted that baseball was his favorite sport. As he got older he appreciated the slower paced sports of Olympic Curling and golf, not as an athlete, but as a fan. His final days were spent with his family watching The Open. Almost everybody that knew Bob, knew of his intelligence and ability to recall information in a moments notice. He was everybody's "Phone a friend" choice if ever given the opportunity to go on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. He was the smartest person most people will ever have the opportunity to meet. Born in Bell, California he was the adored son of Elon and Edwina Holden. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Anna, 4 daughters (Rowena, Constance, Robin and Tomi), 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and his brother, Bud. He was predeceased by a son (Jon) and a daughter (Bonnie) and his beloved sister (Rowdy). There will be a viewing for immediate family on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 9 AM at Osceola Memory Gardens in Kissimmee, Florida. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date to allow the family time to adjust to life without this amazing man in their daily lives. "Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends."
